Grade 7 Social Studies
Students worked on current events for the beginning of class. They are completing a map of Libya to support the current events for this month.
They then began an analysis of The Anishinabe Creation Story. This is a primary source students are looking at to establish an understanding of the values and beliefs that are revealed in the story of their creation.
Grade 8 Social Studies
Students worked on current events for the beginning of class. They are completing a map of Libya to support the current events from this month.
We then looked at two articles from contemporary times regarding our judicial system. We completed a discussion of why there were such differences in the results of the judicial system and the reporting of the cases in the media. We tied this back to how worldview plays a part in both these areas.
We then looked at the challenges to the Feudal system in the medieval ages. We looked at the hierarchy and the division of wealth. We began speaking about The Hundred Years War and the peasant revolts.

Students worked on their pathfinders today. These are due Thursday.
